Several years ago, I started Fish Man Guide Services as a part time business to provide anglers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and western New York the opportunity to catch trophy trout and salmon close to home. This once part time venture has now grown to a full time occupation. Fish Man Guide Services has become the Great Lakes finest fishing guide and education service.

Anglers from all over the eastern United States and Canada are now discovering the fantastic trophy steelhead trout fishing Lake Erie has to offer. Trips are spent not only catching fish, but learning to read the water, understanding the fishery, and dispelling many of the myths persisting today about the steelhead and other salmonoids. It is truly a learning experience for both the novice and expert angler alike. These trips are a fisherman's dream!
My lifelong pursuit of the steelhead and many other salmonoids began at the age of six when my father helped me land my first Conneaut Creek steelhead (we just called them lake run rainbows) in 1968, many years before the fishery became what it is today in Lake Erie. A fascination with this fish developed and led to a life long desire to understand and catch these rainbows. Today, thirty-two years later, my experiences on the water are helping to make better fishermen out of those willing to learn from me. The popularity of Lake Erie steelhead fishing has never been higher and trips with the Fish Man are truly enjoyable. Fishing is fun, whether you're fly fishing or spin fishing (it's your preference), as both methods are very entertaining and exciting. I am also the author of The Lake Erie Tributary Fisherman's Map & Access Guide Series, which are the finest written guides available to help you learn to get around the streams. One dollar from each map sold is donated to cold water fishery projects in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I am looking forward to fishing with my old friends and enjoying the days on the water with several new ones. The 2000-2001 steelhead season is going to be exciting both on and off the water. The steelhead fever has hooked us all, and there's only one way to cure it LET'S GO FISHING! Over the past five years the average size of our Lake Erie steelhead continues to get bigger, and with this size increase it's just a matter of time before one of these lunkers reaches trophy proportions. A twenty-five pound steelhead is a real possibility. The odds are the best they've ever been! Be prepared. The time to worry about the big fish is before you hook it. Good Luck! I hope you catch it.
